The Napoleonic Wars are a series of military campaigns in Europe. It begins in 1799, when Napoleon became the First Consul of revolutionary France, and ends after the Battle of Waterloo. Usually this includes also Napoleon’s Italian campaign (1796-1797) and his Egyptian expedition (1798-1799). Main campaigns : Egyptian Expedition, Russo-Austro-French War of 1805, Russo-Prussian-French War of 1806-1807, Austro-French War of 1809, Wars on the Iberian Peninsula of 1807-1814, Russian Patriotic War of 1812, Foreign campaign of Russian army of 1813-1814, Napoleon’s Belgian campaign of 1815. The large scale of the This period gives reason to characterize them as a prototype of the World War.
